Kent’s trail is a smooth and flowy single-track trail starting from Phil’s Trailhead in Bend, Oregon. The first half of the trail is a popular spot for families and new riders looking to get an introduction to mountain biking. There is very little climbing until just past the intersection with KGB. At that point of the trail, some riders opt to turn around, while most will ride left up a moderate slope, and very few will test their skills by driving straight up the steepest part of the trail, aptly dubbed the "Elevator Shaft". This steep section is much more recommended for experienced riders who are heading down.
Continuing up past the elevator shaft gives riders a choice of cutting across KGB to connect to the Flaming Chicken intersection or continuing up Kent’s trail to follow Phil’s trail back into its iconic canyon and then on to the Flaming Chicken.
