This ride is weather and air quality dependent, but generally occurs most weeks during Daylight Savings (and ad hoc outside of that as weather allows).
Come join us for a fun and spirited group ride. We emphasize safety, good on-road cycling manners, and riding cooperatively. We will have 2-3 regroupings, but this is NOT a "no drop" ride. Average speed is 19-20mph. If you feel the need to go harder, I suggest you join in with the Tuesday Night Hammerfest.
THE Hammerfest! This ride has been going on for decades in Bend, and is a staple of the Bend cycling scene. Every Tuesday at 5:30pm, at the Bull Springs/Shevlin intersection (top of Shevlin Park on the north side), weather and air quality permitting. This is a drop group road ride that runs mid-spring to mid-fall (weather dependent). The group is anywhere from 10-60+ riders depending on the week, and is self organized with no single group leader. This is not an organized race and is on open roads, so please do not ride in a way that endangers yourself or the group. Also, since this is just a grassroots friends riding together thing, you assume all responsibility for yourself by showing up.
Bend is home to cyclists of all disciplines and skill levels. All rides and events are community-led by groups of friends, free, and open to join without reservations.
Whether it’s your first ride or your one-thousandth, check out our group ride etiquette guide and freshen up on what to expect when you get out.
